After some problems with my first trial book, I decided to try a new idea: the appearing image. I imagined adding drawing between each printing, but this would have taken a long time and instead I decided to make the image appear by using À la poupée inking.

The book, Culture of Exponential Growth, consists of thirteen sugar-lift etchings printed in red on circular Hahnemuhle pages, with letterpress titles front and back, bound in cellulose leather. More information on making the cellulose leather can be found here.

The process of making the title pages was time consuming, hammering each letter individually to make the text rounded, this took about 6 hours.

The image appears gradually, and rotates every page.

The final book covered with the cellulose using a blanket stitch.
